Eighteen-year-old Sage Hannigan wants to get back to her own time, preferably one that hasn't been destroyed by an underworld plot brewing in Edwardian-era South Carolina. How hard can it be?

All she has to do is

1. Learn to use newly acquired warping skills to bend time to her will.
2. Take out a few rogue vampires.
3. Join an ancient secret society.
4. Figure out who is putting the time stream in jeopardy.
5. Find and maim whoever invented the corset.

Sage never asked to be chosen by the Druid Priestess, Amerach, to become a Warper, and she never asked to have the future hanging on her shoulders or to warp a hundred years into the past. She certainly never asked to meet Dr. Aldwin Blake, who would make her question her desire to get back to her own time. But if she fails her mission, people will die, history will change, and the present she wishes to return to will be no more.

I don't understand why this book is so highly rated. I won't go so far as to say it's the worst book I've ever read, but it's certainly my least favourite of the year.

The writing itself wasn't terrible, unlike some free books that come riddled with misspellings and atrocious punctuation, this one seemed pretty well put together. However, that only served to highlight the weirdness of everything else.
The characters all behave very erratically, moods flipping about entirely at the slightest provocation. I could understand that for a teenaged main character, but for all these other respectable alleged adults it seemed a considerable stretch. The pacing was odd, rushing about from one plot point to another without much warning or tying together. I had to put it down for days, several times, because it frustrated me too much to read more than a handful of chapters at a time.
There was really no emotional connection to the characters; the main character felt like she was trying really hard to seem cool, while everyone else was kinda flat. I was either laughing at or frustrated by it throughout, and that's really not the emotional response a book generally aims for.

I really want to like this more, it feels like a great concept and interesting plot that just really needs several more hard editing passes to tighten it up, smooth it out, and make it ready to be published. But, in its current state, I honestly can't recommend it.

Time Warper Fated A Sage Hannigan Novel Book 1 eBook Peggy Martinez Reviews

A different twist from most time travel stories. Not a lot of time is spent on the main character figuring out that she has time-traveled, nor is there time spent on her agonizing over whether to share that information with others. There were vampires, werewolves, mermaids and lots of other strange creatures. Normally I wouldn't care for that but in this case it was okay.

The end is somewhat of a cliff hanger, which is always disappointing.
After purchasing a pendant she feels strangely drawn to, Sage Hannigan crosses paths with a little old lady and wakes up a hundred years in the past. Not knowing how she got there or what to do, she decides she has to find help. After a run in with a vampire, she finds herself at Howell Home. There she learns she is a Time Warped. She is trained and given a mission.

Someone in the preternatural community is killing other preternaturals, trying to start a war. Can Sage figure out who it is before it's too late?

Fantastic read! I loved Sage, because she is so sure of herself. The story idea was really great, making this a unique read.

There is a bit of romance, action, adventure and mystery. Definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!
Where do I even begin? I loved this book and that was a nice surprise! I had read some other books by this same author before, but none of those drew me in like this one did. Sure, it's a short, slow start, but one you get going, the mystery and intrigue of this book doesn't stop.

There were times that I wanted to shake Aldwin because he was being mysterious and it was obvious he had some sort of secret. We get to the end, and we still don't get to find out what he's hiding because of Sage. Curse you Sage! I'm hoping we get to find out what his secret is in the next book.

I like Sage, but there were times where I wanted to smack her, especially where Soren is concerned. And as for Soren, I can't really say I like him. Sure, he's got the vampire thing going for him, but to me that isn't enough. Maybe it's because I'm #TeamAldwin.

As to who the villain of the book, I was not expecting it to be who it was. It's always those who appear innocent who tend to be the whack-jobs. Honestly, I almost thought Sage wasn't gonna make it.

That ending though...I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't want it to. Good thing I've bought book 2 already! Fated gets 4 Platypires!
I really enjoyed this book! There were many elements that I've seen in other books, but I really liked how the author put them together. The main character, Sage, was strong, smart, and independent. She didn't accept anyone pushing her around, which was great! The story was compete at the end of the book, no cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next one, and will probably be purchasing it today. The story was well edited, with no jarring mistakes which is a rarity, in my experience. I knocked off a star because I felt that there could have been a bit more development of some of the secondary characters. I wanted to know more about what was going on!
Two of the other platypires read this series and demanded that I do the same, so I gave into their whims.

At the beginning I was a little thrown off as I was trying to understand everything. It wasn't anything super complicated, but also nothing I was used to reading in paranormal stories. (Originality is always a plus in my book!)

Once I had a grasp on everything, it flowed much easier. The one thing about this story that peeved me is that I felt it tried a little too hard, vocabulary-wise. Now, there's nothing wrong with using a thesaurus to improve the content of a story... And it wasn't as if any of the words were misused. But it just felt awkward for me.

I did like many of the characters, but I felt a couple of them weren't explained as much as I would have liked. Travis, for example.

I finished this one fairly quickly, and I did really enjoy it. There's a lot going on, and it is easy to follow for the most part.

Most of the end of it I kept saying, "What the actual fluff?!" Because of reasons. And as soon as I finished it, I had to start book 2... Holy fluff balls, is why.

Anyway, this book was pretty awesome. I did really like reading this, so I don't have to beat the other two platypires for their insolence. I've already started book 2 before I began this review, because I needed to find out what would happen next.

4/5 Platypires
